海上保安庁では、我が国周辺海域の公海上においても、日本関係船舶に限らず、外国籍船舶の海難情報を入手した場合には、状況に応じて、国内外の関係機関との連携、付近を航行中の一般船舶に協力を求めながら、巡視船・航空機を現場海域に派遣し、海難救助を実施しています。
The Japan Coast Guard conducts search and rescue operations not only for Japan-related vessels but also for foreign vessels on the high seas in waters surrounding Japan.
Upon receiving information regarding a maritime distress incident involving a foreign vessel, the Japan Coast Guard, as appropriate, coordinates with relevant authorities in Japan and abroad, seeks the cooperation of nearby vessels, and dispatches patrol vessels and aircraft to the scene.
