Following requests from PCG on the introduction of new Multi-Role Response Vessels（ODA：Official Development Assistance） and continued support for enhancing their operational capabilities and maritime law enforcement capacity, the "PCG Maritime Security Capability Improvement Technical Cooperation Project" was launched under the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in June last year.
Through this framework, MCT conducted capacity-building support for PCG instructor personnel, enhancing their capabilities in towing operations and damage control on PCG vessels, including responses to shipboard fires and flooding.
In addition, for PCG damage control training instructors, as a part of damage control skills, a casualty evacuation exercise was conducted jointly with JICA participants from the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam, as well as Japan Coast Guard trainees aboard the Japan Coast Guard training vessel ITUKUSHIMA, which had called at the port during its overseas training voyage.
This activity contributed not only to enhance participants'operational capabilities but also enhanced personal networks among maritime law

Furthermore, MCT exchanged views with the U.S. Coast Guard Mobile Training Team (USCG MTT) on capacity-building support initiatives.
The JCG will continue to strengthen cooperation and collaboration with the coast guard agencies of other countries to realize a Free and Open Indo-Pacific, while also supporting capacity building for countries in the Indo-Pacific region.
