Through a framework formulated by JICA, the Japan Coast Guard dispatched the Mobile Cooperation Team (MCT) to Indonesia.
The MCT provided instruction on the techniques required for instructor candidates of the Indonesia Coast Guard (BAKAMLA) to serve as arresting techniques instructors. The MCT also provided guidance and advice on the development of an arresting techniques training manual.
In addition, the MCT exchanged views with BAKAMLA personnel on the outcomes of this initiative and future challenges, etc.
Going forward, we will continue to respond meticulously to requests regarding the content of our support through consultations and other means. While strengthening our relationship of trust, we will effectively implement capacity-building support to maintain consistency and continuity.
The Japan Coast Guard will continue to strengthen cooperation and collaboration with the coast guard agencies of other countries to realize a Free and Open Indo-Pacific(FOIP), while supporting capacity-building efforts for countries in the Indo-Pacific region.
