Capacity Building Support for the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)

The Mobile Cooperation Team(MCT), conducted training and exercises with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) as capacity building support, with the aim of enhancing response capabilities in maritime law enforcement operations and developing future instructors of arresting techniques training .
In the arresting techniques training, MCT observed training sessions conducted by PCG arresting techniques instructors for PCG arresting techniques instructor candidates. The MCT then provided guidance and advice to the instructors regarding their teaching methods and other aspects.
In addition, to further strengthen our cooperative relationship, the JCG and the PCG shared the current status and challenges regarding arresting techniques in both organizations and deepened mutual understanding, to further enhance our cooperation.
The Japan Coast Guard will continue to strengthen cooperation and collaboration with the coast guard agencies in other countries to realize a Free and Open Indo-Pacific(FOIP), while promoting capacity-building support for countries in the Indo-Pacific region.
