Participation in the 22nd Heads of Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting (HACGAM)

The 22nd Heads of Asian Coast Guard Agencies Meeting (HACGAM) was held in Hangzhou, China. Commandant MIYAZAWA Koichi attended on behalf of the Japan Coast Guard. The meeting took place from September 7th (Mon) to 10th (Thu).
At the meeting, the participants shared information on their effort and good practices and agreed on the action items, KPIs, and timelines of HACGAM Vision 2030 proposed by Australian Border Force and Japan Coast Guard last year.

3　Summary

　HACGAM members exchanged opinions in five working groups, "Search and Rescue", "Environmental Protection", "Preventing and Controlling Unlawful Acts at Sea"," Capacity Building" and "Information Sharing/ Joint Exercise", and agreed to continue enhancing cooperation in various fields.

　The working groups discussed the action items, KPIs, and timelines of HACGAM Vision 2030, and reached agreement on them at the plenary session.

　The participated countries and region adopted a Joint Statement incorporating the above two points, with a view to ensure "Safe, Secure and Clean Seas for Future".

　Pakistan was elected as host country in 2027.
