COAST GUARD ACADEMY


Cultivating characters and leadership suitable for the future senior officers of JCG
Coast Guard Academy was established for education and training of the JCG's personnel in April 1951 and accepted the first cadets in the temporary building at Etchujima in Tokyo in June 1951. It was moved to its present location in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture in the following year. The purpose of Coast Guard Academy is to teach cadets science and expertise to be needed as senior officers of JCG, to train them spiritually and physically and to conduct research on various subjects.
While having many things in common with other colleges and universities, Coast Guard Academy, in order to build up cadets' capabilities in fulfilling the wideranging Coast Guard services as well as cultivate potential for future missions, has the following education policy and conducts its education and training.

  2. Obtaining high level of knowledge
  3. Building up strong physical and spiritual strength
